We will create an online pen-pal program over email to connect donors to donees.

North Carolina givers and Indian women will engage in a one on one relationship with each other by email. The goal is that they will create an authentic, one-on-one friendship, furthering donors loyalty and giving to Jiti.

 

In the post-donation survey, one of the questions will ask whether the donor wants to be connected to a woman in the Jiti program. There will be a few pictures of available women to make this choice more heartwarming and intriguing. If they check yes, Jiti will connect a woman in India (who has stated she is interested in a pen-pal relationship) with the donor.

 

They will be introduced over email and encouraged to engage in a long-term friendship, updating each other on their lives.

 

Those who aren’t interested will still have the option to receive the Jiti newsletter, which will be similar content to the eJournal and social content. Though not quite as personal as the pen-pal program, the newsletter will still connect the donor and donee by telling personal stories of the Jiti women.
